I just want to take this time to tell you all about how proud I am of my mother. My mother is the most beautiful, influential and intelligent woman I have ever met in my life. She had the most terrible year last year. She struggled with stage-two breast cancer, chemotherapy and radiation treatments for the first seven months of 2011. One month after her final treatment of radiation, she discovered she had a heart disease. The doctor ordered she have surgery only a few months later. She was in the ICU for a week after surgery, and was placed on bed rest for 6 weeks afterwards. It was the worst year she has ever experienced.
But after her health struggles, she is now healthier than ever! She went on a “food-plan” as soon as she felt better and was determined to lose the weight she gained from chemotherapy. She lost a total of 25 pounds, and she is now a size six! She runs at least three-miles daily. She now plans on training for a half-marathon next year. And to think of all the health problems she has had, that she could do all of this…Wow. She is my greatest motivation in life!
